AL-NH₃ Heat Pipe Research Published at HTFF 2024
EW JET PRODUCTS presented its aluminum-ammonia heat pipe research at the International Conference on Heat Transfer and Fluid Flow (HTFF 2024). The published paper covers the full development arc of our AL-NH₃ heat pipe platform — from wick design through experimental validation.
Key findings documented in the paper include an effective thermal conductivity of 15,000 W/mK, approximately 37 times that of solid copper. The study details our 3D-printed sintered wick architecture, which provides precise control over pore structure and permeability, and presents experimental data from a series of performance characterization tests conducted under conditions representative of on-orbit satellite thermal environments.
The research was conducted in collaboration with institutional partners and builds on over five years of development work at EW JET's Xizhi facility. The paper is available via open-access DOI.
